Not the Birthday I was looking for....
Apr. 22nd, 2012 10:02 pmIt has been the birthday of Bad Decisions for me, alas, as I still haven't cleaned my house, I couldn't finish anything of the lunch I went out to have, and there was no cheesecake. I shouldn't have even tried the blood orange Cosmo (I drink alcohol once in a blue moon and it made me very very sleepy.) Gmail has taken away my option to use the old view, and I really hate the new view LOTS so I'm going to only use html out of spite and that means no chatting, not that anyone but my sister ever chats with me much these days. It was raining, cold, and not very windy, so I didn't go sailing, and my attempt to write a "how to solve sudoku" book needs help. Or a blow torch, I can't decide which. And I think my computer is dying.
But I did get a wonderfully silly phone call from a friend, and I took a moment to read this Sherlockian poem by KCS, which is good, as it won't be there long, and I adored it.
ETA, other good reads for the day here:
keelywolfe.livejournal.com/543900.html (A great John!whump Sherlock BBC.)
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-17777556 (A defense of magniloquence.)
I got a drabble from
lame_pegasus but it's friendslocked... And several birthday greetings I see as I work down through my flist, as well as a couple from friends via facebook. So it's better, it's better...

Earth Hour
Mar. 31st, 2012 10:00 pmI started late, not realizing that it was even Earth Hour until I got nudged by an odd looking icon at youtube, but I did spend an hour with no lights or computer or heat. I gave up on the candlelight fairly quickly and took a nap, because with no one to talk to there weren't a whole lot of other options. I did think of a hot bath, but that would burn energy too, hence me and my blankies...
I did end up really watching the clock (the one electric thing I left going) very hard during those last few minutes, because, well, you know, the internet...
*sigh* Yup, addicted.

Well, I haven't written much lately
Jan. 1st, 2012 10:46 amBut I did manage to squeak out a story for Yuletide (in spite of having to default on Holmestice this round.)
The story, such as it is, is for a tiny fandom based on two YA science fiction books from years ago. But the prompters yuletide letter did lead me to the wonderful concept of Noodle Incidents, so that was good. And at least three people liked it!

Hopefully I'll get more writing done this year.

As you can see
Dec. 20th, 2011 09:02 pmI'm covering my bets and posting at Dreamwidth as well as LJ. Just in case the debacle is too debacly for me. This is the test post. Mind you, I still have the option of viewing in my own style, so I don't know how indignant I'm going to be entirely, but hey, I'm getting tired of websites (I'm looking at you google) fixing what ain't broken.
