I hate facebook.

I like -- in the traditional sense -- many of the people I know who spend their time there. And I like the links they frequently point out.

But I still hate facebook. It's ugly, and the timeline thing doesn't make it any prettier.

i too hate facebook. i'm not on it often enough to get everyone's links. i've missed private messages sent to me because i don't check when my email says 'facebook sent this'.

i haven't been switched to timeline yet. i'll edit it so it doesn't make me look like utter shite, but i won't be spending anymore time there than i do now.

i will play games there. they're time wasters, but sometimes my brain needs that.

tl:dr - you are not alone.

I go on once in a while because I have a friend who really uses it extensively and it's the fastest way to chat with her when I need to get an actual response now (they don't always answer the phone at her house, for valid reasons.) But I've never wanted to play games there. None of them look interesting to me.

I hate it, too. My sister was so sure that once I got on I would never leave, and then realized I had had an account for over a year and never used it, lol. I agree that it's ugly, and I think pretty unwieldy. I just don't understand the popularity of it, since there's no real privacy and you can't really engage people over it.

And there's no memory. At least here I can use people's tags or archive to go back and find some comment or entry I enjoyed. At facebook it all goes down the pipe after three days. And they filter! You don't see the people you never respond to after a while!

I've given up on it. The only game I enjoyed has gone down the plughole and although I'd like to keep up with the few friends I have there I probably won't.

I don't want to play games that require me to give away my personal information. Even if they're fun.

Three of my accounts are fake and the other one is me but with no personal info apart from one of my e-mails and my name. No photos, no gender, no schools, no workplace, no public posts, no personal posts, no phone number. I've removed all the apps but the one I might still want to use. They're welcome to share my religious and political views. :D

This. I feel there's something sinister about this public forum asking such intimate questions about me. Where is the information stored? How will it be used?

So I don't do any FB playing, etc. I have a page there for professional reasons, but I really don't chat. Occasionally I'll post something, typically professional (writing) related.

I'll one-up-you, I HATE facebook. I only made a page when someone in my graduating class asked me to help get people organized, but I absolutely refused to let them have my real name, age or any other information (quite a trick, let me tell you). I've managed to ignore anyone posting to me there enough that people don't tend to bother me there anymore. My hope is that it will fade away (Myspace anyone?) and we will just be ahead of the curve after all. ;)

Myspace didn't convince the federal government to have a "page".

I hate facebook LOTS.
