This one was pretty good. I am continually amazed by the people who I know who are actually good at remembering birthdays (even mine!) because it is a skill that several decades has not allowed me to acquire. But I woke up to a lovely e-card and found several notes concerning my natal day strewn through my flist (along with pictures and good wishes.)

I spent the day lazily enough at first. Watched the DVD of the first part of Deathly Hallows, which I'd missed in theaters, and decided in the end that it was just as well, as it allowed me to get up and pace a bit during the bits which bothered me, and to hunt for popcorn during the bits which felt just as interminable in the book. The things that have been left out continue to baffle me, because they're still being left out, and the final movie is going to have to be ridiculously full of backstory in order to make sense. :/

After that I went to an appointment with a physical therapist for my back (yes, I did, so those of you who made suggestions a while ago can relax, I am doing something about it.) And from there I went sailing on the Charles, which was fun on the way up to the next bridge -- one looooong jibe -- and bloody cold on the way back -- tack, tack, tack, tack, tack, tack, tack, tack, all zigzag. And then I couldn't quite manage to get to the dock right. Killed my momentum too soon the first time, got to the dock the second time but couldn't get the rope over before I drifted back, and then had too much momentum and had to be rescued by helpful peoples. *sigh*

I'm getting it, but slowly slowly...

Then I came home and had some nice people bring me dinner while I watched some Ronald Howard Holmes.

And today I've managed to write a bit and had two naps.

Onward.

I agree on the Deathly Hallows movie. Couldn't they have cut some interminably long action scene and added some actual plot?

*sigh*

Sailing sounds fun!

I love Ronald Howard Holmes-- the stories are (most of them) so playful. It's really a nice balance to the "dark" Sherlock Holmes, of which there seems to be a plentiful supply. I think you gave me the steer to Hulu, so thank you!

Glad you had a good day. Luck with the back!

Oh dear. You could be describing me there! But I love to see that you had many well wishes and treats throughout your friends list. Wonderful! And even though you had to tack, tack, tack through a good part of your day, it sounds like you had a good day sailing, getting something done about your back, a nice dinner and some good TV.

A very Happy Belated Birthday to you, RabidSamFan!

I loved that animation sequence near the end of Deathly Hallows. It's incredibly memorable!

(Doesn't say much for the rest of the film, though...)

It does say something when the house elves and the cartoon were the highlights, doesn't it? *headdesk*

(Oh, yes, and Dobby's death: genuinely moving!)

I'm wondering what Part II is going to look like, I really am...

I'm wondering if Snape will actually have lines... :/
