I've created a journal. I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do with it yet, but here it is. This is all shirebound's fault. I think my free time has just wandered into an entirely new timezone. Yikes.

Hah! Sorry, I mean... welcome! I'll tell folks you're here.

As you can see from my double drabble this morning, LJ is a wonderful place to post little creative bits. It's also a safe place to rant and rave and blow off steam (you can "lock" entries to just your friends, or make them private, or lock them to select "groups" of friends). Some folks use LJ as a diary, some to get or give support to others, some to be creative, but mostly it's used to keep a record of whatever you want to keep a record of.

If you go to someone's "user info" page (by clicking on the little human "head" next to their name-link, you'll see a row of icons. You can click on the first one (a human head with a plus-sign) if you want to "friend" someone. That way, you can have a place where the entries of your friends are all in one place, and you don't have to prowl from journal to journal. No one is ever obligated to "friend" you back if they choose not to.

Well, that's an enthusiastic welcome. As soon as I figure out why I can't stay logged in (probably something to do with my cookies) I'll befriend a few folks and get started.

I'm glad you're enjoying the stories. I just updated "Unlucky" today, with some trepidation. It's just not doing what I thought it would!

When you log in, be sure that you check "Expiration... never". If that doesn't do it, there must be another problem.

It was the cookies. I had blocked them all from livejournal ages ago and when I allowed them everything seems to have been fixed. Thank goodness for the power outage that prevented me from asking the stupid question before I'd figured it out myself.

I don't mind if you "friend" me. It's a compliment, actually. I've put two people on my list -- shirebound and marigoldg, because I end up checking their livejournals all the time, anyway. I don't know how much brilliance you're going to get out of it, but if I've got the arrogance to post it in a public forum, I'm certainly not going to get my nose out of joint if someone reads it.

And I'm glad you like my fics. I've got bunches of unfinished stuff, but I'm trying to be good and not post it at ff.n in its current state.

Maybe I can use the LJ to get feedback on WIP or stuck chapters... It's a thought, anyway.

Wow indeed! I'm glad to be on your "friend's" list, truly. I'm a little curious now about the etiquette of "friending" back -- I hope no one minds much one way or the other, because I'm still feeling my way. Some journals seem more "private" than others. And I always have to resist the urge to pontificate in real life! There are so many good writers here it's hard to resist the temptation to read, but if I'm not careful, I won't get any writing done!
