I had a Big Important Meeting I was supposed to be at for work today.
So naturally, last night I was running a temp a smidge over 102. Of course, when I went in to the clinic this morning it was sitting at 98.6. I practically cried. Heck, I did cry. I spent my entire childhood going to the nurse at school, having my temperature taken and being told I wasn't sick and I should go back to class. (Turns out my normal temp is 97 odd, not 98 odd.)
In any case, she thinks I've got the flu. I have antivirals, robitussin, and admonishment to actually be really really good about my asthma steroids (which I'm not usually) and a note for my boss. You don't usually need a note for two days out, but given the Big Important Meeting I thought I should get one.
Now I'm home. My head hurts, my appetite has taken a hike, and my temp has climbed back up to 100.8. And I forgot to ask her how many ibuprofens to take at a time. (Last night, the call-in nurse had me take four!)
Whyizzit I never have symptoms when I'm at the frickin' doctor's office?
