There are times when I suspect I really chose the right career.

The power went out last night (while I was in the tub, of course!) and once I assembled myself and went out to see how the neighborhood was doing (half the street had power while the others didn't -- randomly on either side of the street) most of the neighbors had gone out too. It was a muggy night, without a lot of breeze, so most of us without power wound up staying outside and chatting until the electric company finally showed up. There were probably oh, twenty adults out there and ten or twelve kids.

And I now know the names of two adult neighbors and nine of the children...
