Light in the Window
It was late when Gandalf roused Frodo from the sleep he’d needed and pointed across the river. After a moment, his eyes grew used to the darkness and he saw the small figure trotting determinedly towards the bridge.
Sam stopped to catch his breath before risking the narrow span. The house was close now, like he was dreaming of one of Mr. Bilbo’s tales, though he’d never dreamt it so big. How would he find Frodo in all that?
His heart leapt when he saw a light on one of the balconies and a hobbit’s hand raised to greet him.
