rabidsamfan: samwise gamgee, I must see it through (Default)

He'd love this place, my brother. I can almost see him standing beside the waterfalls with his face turned up to the caress of the mist. He would not linger for long -- not once he heard the singing coming from the Hall of Fire. But his Elvish is better than mine; he would not be so shy of asking when he heard a strange word. By now he'd be trading poems with the old hobbit, and asking Lord Elrond for the use of the library.

Perhaps if he were with me, I would not be so ready to go home.

Oh glory! A Boromir-drabble! That is absolutely wonderful, and I love the last sentence. It is very easy to notice the deep feelings he has for Faramir. And he is so very recognizable...

Thank you!

Thank you indeed! Boromir insisted on being noticed. At first I thought he wanted to talk about halflings, but he was homesick...

*whispers*

I'm a huge Boromir-Fan! Would you ever... ehm... think about writing something longer? A ficlet? A fic? Some day? Please...?

Let me guess. Boromir? If yes... Homesick? Poor baby. But, now I'm not so sure anymore. Boromir is the only who has a brother. But surely Faramir doesn't speak Elvish?

The rangers spoke a form of Elvish while they were sitting with Frodo and Sam waiting for Faramir and his patrol to ambush the Southrons -- so it must be fairly commonly taught and spoken. But I expect that it may be a fairly archaic form.

Your drabbles are like jewels in a glorious necklace. This one is simply superb (and I can see it being possibly expanded into a full story?).

Lovely. Rivendell must have seemed to Boromir like a very alien place, and makes a great deal of sense that it would instinctively remind him of Faramir and thus make him homesick. Very moving!

Oh, Boromir. This is fab, how recognizable his deep feelings for his brother are, and just how Boromir this feels - gah, s'lovely. Also, that last line has slain me, I fear.

... oh well. *applauds*

Oh, this is fabulous! Poor Boromir, he's so homesick. I echo the wishes of others when I ask that it be made a bit longer. :)
