rabidsamfan: samwise gamgee, I must see it through (Default)

Soft I called them, before they went, but they’ve come back hard and cruel besides. No matter that we need a mill, it must come down to please them. No matter that the gears are mine, for the land went to pay the cost. No matter that they’ve turned Lobelia against me. All my hard work gone for naught. All my dreams smashed down. There’s nothing left but anger and their laughter in my ears. Especially his.

But he rides alone, planting his foolish trees. And when he’s gone they won’t laugh no more. My dreams won’t die. His will.

Angry, dark and cleverly written - brava!

But he rides alone, planting his foolish trees. And when he’s gone they won’t laugh no more. My dreams won’t die. His will.

That gives me the shudder, really. Thank god that he was wrong. Did he dream of murdering him?

I think he dreamed about it. Whether or not he did anything is another matter. Give me a while to think on it.

Oo, a different voice -- good one. I liked hearing the flip side of that coin.

Thanks. It was your story which kind of gave me the nerve to play with the bunny.

I thought this was Ted Sandyman talking at first...is it? Because I want some more, if it is. Powerful stuff.

It is. And there might be.

Good...some folks want me to write a 'sympathetic portrait' of Ted as I did for Lobelia in "Firewood", but I couldn't find any redeeming traits to write about...though I had toyed with Ted wooing Lobelia during the year of the occupation. Bad Ted is better.

Ha! *pounce* I found you in lj-land! And what do I discover but a dark, cold, intense portrayal of Ted Sandyman. This is amazing, sent shivers down my back. It's interesting to try and determine whether Sandyman's hatred of Sam came from a sense of superiority or rather a twisted feeling of envy. Hmmm, now you've got me thinking...

Anyway, so happy to have found you!

Think away! And think on more of "The Choices of Master Meriadoc" while you're at it! *grin*

I'm off to read your new story. Thengel, hmm? ....

Oh, it's wonderful! Thanks!

Oh, I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I promise;-). Fatty is a surprising fellow, let me tell you what.

Just got your reply to the Thengel, I'm glad you liked it, my most nerve-wracking story yet.
