I've been listening to the BBC dramatic production of LOTR for the past few days and it's amazing. I am also hugely amused to discover that Sam is being played by Bill Nighy, whom I've enjoyed so often on screen.

*sigh*

Oh, yeah. I've got those CDs but haven't had the chance to listen to them yet. And I'm quite looking forward to seeing him in Hitchhiker's Guide.

Yep. I believe he's playing Slartibartfast, which will be interesting casting. I thought him the only really good thing about Love, Actually.

I like the way he's done it, too. It's wonderful just listening.

I love that adaptation. I am particularly fond of Gollum :)

He's interesting isn't he? It took me a while to get used to the voices, after seeing the movies, but I'm hooked now.

Oh, yes! I love Brian Sibley's adaptation for BBC too. I love the voices of Merry and Pippin, and of course Ian Holm's Frodo, and Bill Nighy's Sam. Aragorn and Arwen is a bit of a disappointment, and so's Gollum. I can't help comparing him to Andy Serkis's portrayal of him. But Gandalf is amazing. I love the way Sibley incorporate the little details from the book and the songs sound so folksong-ish.

Did you see Bill Nighy in Blow Dry (opposite Alan Rickman)? British actors never cease to amaze me.

I found lots to like in this dramatization.

And yes, I've seen Blow Dry. Did you see him in "Love Actually" (which *also* has Alan Rickman?)
