I just got this from some poor anon over at ff.n about Call for the Doctor:

It is a very good story but, I would suggest you write more in each chapter so
you don't have 222 chapters with two sentences on each

Silly Bunny has never heard of the proper definition of a drabble...

HAHAHHAHAHAHAH!

I got an anon review for my story "Rick," in which I made mention of "Stephen Moffat.":

STEVEN MOFFAT. STEVEN. NOT STEPHEN

*twitch* pardon me, irate fangirl talking. Interesting concept I like.

I thought it was sort of rude.

But the BEST ANON REVIEW EVER is this:

This is not a review. This message is not for those who love Frodo and appreciate his sacrafice. This message is for those who hate Frodo and who judge him for his faults. Frodo risked his life to save middle earth. Would you have done better if you were in his shoes?

WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?

In case I never bothered to review, though--I LOVE that drabble series....even if you couldn't be bothered to make your chapters longer. :-P

I think I started when it was at about drabble 80.

So I did get a lot of the drabble-a-day thing. :-)

(I'm just a terrible reviewer)

What?!? And does the idiom "in his shoes" really work for a Hobbit?

Haha! Well, Tolkien did paint a Picture of Bilbo in Gwaihir's eyrie, I think, wearing boots...but I don't think the anon reviewer had that in mind. :-D

Go enjoy yourself! I had a lot of fun writing my way through the story -- thanks to [livejournal.com profile] janeturenne who faithfully beta'ed ninety percent of the drabbles before I posted them.

But I am amused.

Addendum: SQUEE! That story was excellent! (And ye gods, how on earth did you manage to tell such a long and lovely story, 100 words at a time? The brain boggles!)

I am too. That's why I'm smiling. It's such a good-hearted gesture! Hopefully, though, she'll eventually learn that getting everything into 100 words is an artform too.

But I couldn't resist sharing it with all the people who've put up with my drabbling over the years.

One of my biggest beefs with my current fandom is that they have no clue what a drabble even is! They think it means "short ficlet". So very, very sad. I actually am shocked when someone actually writes a drabble that's 100 words long!

I correct 'em. Constantly. And when I get someone who says "oh, the meaning's changed" I say "You have a dozen ways of saying you wrote something short. I have one way of saying I took the time and effort to make a fic of precisely 100 words. If you want to be taken seriously as a writer, grow a vocabulary."

Much of the Sherlock Holmes fandom suffers the same delusion, alas. This despite having one of the most specific forms I've ever seen, the 221B: 221 words, the last of which starts (or ends? I'm not entirely clear which should be the case) with the letter B. :p

Begins with a "B". Those are the brainchild of KCS, and I do think they're utterly brilliant. But it will take a lot of us being cranky to make any difference, I'm afraid.

And you've wolfed down the entire thing, I see. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Drabbles are fun, but that story kind of took forever to get done, and I'm glad it came out as well as it did.

And yes, you should dive into canon for a bit! It's always interesting.
