I think I've proven it once again. I AM INCREDIBLY BAD AT RESPONDING TO COMMENTS! I mean, y'all here love me, and you know that I'm bad at it. But now that I am trying to be a good bunny for the new year and go and answer all the comments I got on the 17 pieces I did betwixt yuletide and holmestice because those poor bunnies don't know that I am easily confounded by people saying nice things I am rediscovering my incompetence all over again.

GAH GAH GAH....

Feedback is a grand and glorious thing. Feedback on feedback is... awkward. Just awkward. *bangs head harder on desk*

Six stories down, eleven to go.

It is...but I feel rude not to. If I can't think of anything interesting to say, I usually just say "thanks." :-D I figure, they know I didn't put tons of time and effort into the answer, but at least I am acknowledging that they took the time? I guess.

I dunno...

As a writer, that's what I do too when I run out of steam. As a reader, even a simple 'thanks' lets me know my comment was read and appreciated.

*cheers you both on*

Even a "thanks" sometimes takes more steam than I feel like I've got to give, blast it all. But honestly, I do read every comment, especially yours.

Yes, but I am still bad at it. And worse when I have one person (usually someone I know, or someone who asked an interesting question or made a cool observation) that I should give a proper answer to and other people who said something short and all I can think of is 'thank you' and then it looks totally inadequate.

I really really hate this part. It takes me far too much energy and I'd rather be writing.

Yeah. I was fortunate in that most of the stories I wrote this fall were for happy_trekmas, and there was no big reveal, so I was able to leave comments as they came in. (Besides, I don't get an inordinate amount.) It looks like you had a LOT of fics that got revealed at the last moment.

I'm bad at it all the time, not just for yuletide. *sigh*

I always thought I was meticulous about responding to feedback and comments -- but occasionally I go back and look at very old posts of mine (especially wheN I was sorting my old fics for the archive I made up recently) and have discovered several times when i completely forgot or just didn't respond. I always wonder what people would think if I just responded to a comment 8 years after the fact, lol! :)

*grin* Why not? I expect some people might be surprised into rereading!

LOL! I have the opposite problem. I will blather on and on and on. Then realize I said way too much, delete, and replace with a simple "Thanks, I'm glad you liked it."

Of course, sometimes I leave the blather, and then cringe when I get a glimpse of it a few months (or years) later.

Yes, very. I have trouble with it every time. :p
