Frustration is finally breaking through the writer's block long enough to write. And then having the stuff you've written be for anonymous gift exchanges where you can't get feedback until the fics are posted and can't acknowledge the feedback even if you get it until the reveal.

*headdesk*

In lieu of having something to post in my own name, I offer a meme, gacked from [livejournal.com profile] janeturenne. And I think I've seen it elsewhere on my flist, but I was semiconscious at the time.

If you had to pick one fic of mine that is the one you identify with me, what would it be?

Considering that I have now been posting fic long enough to occasionally go back and read something and be surprised that I wrote it, I'm not sure if it's possible to actually answer that question. But maybe y'all are cleverer than I!

"Fourteen Days"

Or maybe, "The Errand Lad".

And then there is "Another Snape Meets the Dursleys"...

Oh, gosh... The Errand Lad! (feels guilty) I never did figure out how to resolve that one. On the other hand it did take me five years to finish Snape-Dursley, so the future isn't entirely dark.

I love "The Errand Lad" and I love your Bergil, and I have faith that one day Bergil will prevail! LOL!

And Snape-Dursley was the very first really long HP fic I ever read, and I still think it would have been terrific if it had all gone that way. Poor Snape!

I really mostly associate you with drabbles-- your drabbles are amazing. Yet when you posted this meme, these three stories popped into my head over and above any of your drabbles...

The first thing that comes to mind, and the one I find myself reccing again and again, is A Decided Genius, though after OH SO MANY titles, Call For the Doctor comes to mind as well :)

ETA: also, OH how I empathize. Writer's block for a month and a half followed by 25k and counting of fic, and I can't post ANY of it.

Oh, geez. Impossible.

Yet I'm going to say "Call for the Doctor" because I adore your drabbles and this is like, 9 million drabbles and it's SHERLOCK HOLMES AND WATSON so there's love. Yeah.

Yes.
What Mariole is saying so beautifully. The motion is now seconded and we have a winner.

It should be hard to choose; I've been reading and reviewing all your stuff from the moment I encountered your writing in the net.

But I think it still is and always will be The Ringbearer And The Rose. The way you describe the moment when Galadriel's gift makes the whole Shire re-bloom and flourish is still one of the finest moments in fanfiction for me.

Awwww. That moment just plain wrote itself, you know. I can't imagine it any other way.

It's weird, because [livejournal.com profile] dreamflower02 said I should read you for your Sam. But I think I associate you most with Holmes/Watson. Sacrifices is one of my all-time favorites, and I would be remiss if I didn't mention Matches. I know it was a collab, but...yeah. Ohhhhhh, yeah.

*blush* I had to go hunt down "Sacrifices" because it's only ever been posted at Cox and Co, and I'd forgotten which story I'd attached that name to. But yeah, it is kind of memorable. When you're not trying to use brain bleach, anyway. And I love Matches. Jane and I had a wonderful time writing that.

Gosh, you need to be better about posting your fic to your own journal! Sacrifices is marvelous! And no need for brain bleach for me, either -I've seen worse on the kinkmeme. ;)

Matches is awesome, too. All your fics are awesome. :D

To answer the question in the post, I don't associate you with a particular fic, I associate you with drabbles.

The thing is, the still-in-high-school niece and the not-yet-in-high-school nephew both know about this journal, so a bit of discretion is required.

You're right, though, there's been worse appeared via the kinkmeme. But Sacrifices is still pretty darkfic for me!

F-lock? Or do they have LJs? But yeah, I understand... the only reason I'm okay with posting my NC-17 stuff on mine is because my siblings have gotten older and mellowed out about what I post. I just don't like missing any of your fic! :)

Rosie and Frodo watching the Shire grow around them. That scene stuck with me so powerfully I wrote a similar scene into "Rosie's Year".

*grin* I associate that one with YOU actually. If you'd never written me that amazing review (and then gone on to recommend the fic to others) I don't think I ever would have found LJ. Thank you!

Balance!

Okay... well... maybe not quite. It's certainly a favorite, but I tend to associate this LJ primarily with Holmes, Watson, and hobbits, and only periodically remember you're the same person as the HP stories.

I enjoyed that so much. I still want to squeal gleefully when I think about the Founders' arrival. And I'm fairly sure it introduced me to Ozma's Filch series and Deralte's Uric stories, which was a substantial bonus.
