If it was Chuck Palahunk or something like that, he, Brown, and Atwood are frequently at the top of the best seller lists.

Not sure the person who made this up knows Heyer. It seems to resort to James Joyce and Stephen King an awful lot.

By experimenting, I find that dialogue heavy stuff gets Stephen King, and description heavy stuff that isn't consciously using character names from well known older writers gets Chuck Palahniuk. In the same story...

I did get Mark Twain for my Emergency story though.
