rabidsamfan: samwise gamgee, I must see it through (Default)

She caught Frodo's eye that first Yule, at the bonfire where all the village had gathered to sing songs and watch the long night through. A wide-eyed little one, with bright hair and a dress bedecked with intricate embroidery, who sat up longer than most of the children her age, listening to the stories and songs. She wasn't as grubby as the others, either, which Frodo knew betokened something, although he didn't have words to explain it, not even to himself.

Still, he watched her lean against her father's knee, and it made his heart hurt. Time to find Bilbo.

This makes my heart hurt, too. A little. And it makes me smile.

Dear, this is wondrous.

Thank you! *hugs you*

You're welcome. Gosh, it's been a long time since I tried to write Frodo!

You succeeded, I'd say. That was sweet and melancholy and masterful.

I came here, at [livejournal.com profile] belegcuthalion's request, because I love Frodo/Lily, and am very glad I did. :)

You totally pushed all my 'orphaned Frodo' triggers here.

*snuffles into her hankie*

Beautiful.

I'm still stunned at how 100 words can express so much. Beautifully written!
