Bold the ones you've read, strike the ones you hated, italicize the ones you couldn't get through. Asterisks for the ones you loved - more asterisks, more love. Plus signs for the ones you own. Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] semyaza.

No such thing as too many books. Just not enough time!

They put McCaffrey on here but not McKillip? For shaaaaame. Much better author and every bit as prolific and well-praised....

Ah well. All my favorite authors would never wind up on this list :P

Considering that most of these books were available when I was in high school and that was decades ago, I think it has a definite slant towards "classics" in the sense of the original author read them when he/she was fifteen...

The Sword of Shannara?

*crows with glee*

I read the whole trilogy, absolutely flabbergasted at the extent to which an author is able to copy another one. *snorts*

And I totally agree about McKillip. Read her Harpist-books directly after having read LOTR, and she managed to keep me on the hook from the first to the last page. They are classics (oh dear, was that really thirty years ago?)!
