There's a tin dispatch box... like the one Watson mentions... down near the bottom of this page.

Lot 511: Painted Victorian tin dispatch box by Allybhoy Vullijee & Sons - Mooltan with fitted interior, 49cm long £20.00 -30.00

Not to mention all the other neat Victorian toys.

Gah!

Edit: Okay, I want the tin box, and the sword stick, and the violin with the label that says Stradiuari and...

I'm not even in the right country! Aaaaaggghhh!

The dispatch box is a good buy. I have a sword stick exactly like the second one and I find it hard to believe it's worth that much. I'll have to treat it with more respect.

If I lived in England I think I'd be camping on their doorstep come morning. I need to get a scratch lottery ticket and if it wins I'll indulge in the box, I think, but oooohhhhh.... man.

The internet is cool, but dangerous.

I adore the Minton porcelain with the classical, blue pattern. And that can't be a Stradivari violin, not with such a low estimate!

No wonder that you like the box. *smiles*

Oh yes, I would love to have that dispatch box.

It's nice to be able to put a picture with the description Watson gives!

o.O That's a very nice specimen indeed, and in rather good condition for its age too. I love the off-set serried ranks of paper-slots in the lid especially.

This month's First Aider At Work bonus was assigned to attempting to acquire this lovely item...

...till they went and pulled it abruptly from sale for some reason. :-P

I was the lead bidder as well. Humph.

Argh!

I bought a lottery ticket -- I suppose I should see if I won, because if I did, I'm flyin' to England...

ignore the other response, wrong journal

If you won the lottery, I get to go too!
It's only been 24 years since we did it the last time...
