The amendment to strike the immunity provision for telecoms from the FISA bill got voted down in the Senate.

That means, if you're having trouble with all the negatives, that if your Senator voted "NAY" at the link, he or she decided that it was okay for the telcom companies to spy on you for Bush without facing any consequences in court. Starting in FEBRUARY of 2001. That's right, long before the attacks on the pentagon and the twin towers.

Time to get ahold of your representatives and yell. And to contact your senators if they voted NAY and tell them what jerks they are, too. This was straightforward. The rule of law for everyone or choosing to cover Bush's illegal activities.

There are two consolations. First is that both my senators voted "YEA."

Second, is that the FISA bill hasn't passed in its entirety. If enough people get ahold of the 'nay'sayers for this amendment and make it clear that they're losing votes and respect, perhaps they'll change their tunes when the bill comes up for a final vote.

Of course Salazar, my turkey fake-Democrat hypocrit, voted NAY to give a free pass to the violaters of liberty. He is a dip and I don't like him. He's only 20% less Republican than a Republican would be.

Thanks for getting the word out.

Shit, what's that? Trying to clean up and do some urgently needed white-washing before a certain someone vanishes in Texas again?

Heh. Republican former-governor Voinovich voted Nay. Big surprise there. Fortunately, our Democrat voted Yea, so all is not lost.
