When did I start being the kind of person who listens to radio stations that announce the weather with Gene Kelly instead of Jim Morrison?

hehe. I've found that I've come to like music from long before I was born better and better. Perhaps it's something to do with age. :P

Heh. Same over here. Have changed to a classical radio station, and enjoy TV programs that actually inform me about history. *is thoroughly shocked*

That's not a sign of age, IMHO, but of wisdom.

We get tired of fluff, we do. Well, some kinds of fluff anyway. *wink*

*laughs* I'm with [livejournal.com profile] belegcuthalion. I'm listening more and more to relaxing mellow music - and the thing that made me happiest yesterday was realizing that the History Channel is now broadcasting in HD. Hee.

I love History Channel. Get it via Digital TV here, too.

History Channel and the National Geographic Channel are two that I know I can turn on almost any time and be educated and entertained simultaneously.

And also Food Network.

*grin* I've always loved "oldies" and "classics"--but, you know, Jim Morrison's an oldie, too, now! (Well, not him, but his music...)

I still like Riders on the Storm -- but lets face it, it's the station that strikes me as odd. "Beautiful Music" he calls it -- forties to sixties!

Or the scariest explanation: you're turning into Your Mother.

Considering the fact that your mother raised you on Gene Kelly, I don't find this development at all surprising. I happen to like him myself, though I'm more on a Fred Astaire kick at the moment (and I still drool over Howard Keel...)

If it comes to that, Jim Morrison was slightly before your time too, kiddo. You and I are definitely in the second half of the Boomers.

*doubletake* I originally parsed that sentence as if you were listening to a radio station that announced: "and here's Gene Kelly with the weather forecast..." Which was a very odd mental image! ;-)
