After the Wedding
After the third time I looked up from the agony columns to point out an item of interest to your empty chair I reached for the hypodermic. It's not as if you were sitting there grumbling through your mustache at my wretched habit, though it must be confessed that the drug has lost some of its savor without your disapproval. But solace me it must, lest I spend the entire evening listening for the skitter of your pen across the pages of your diary. Solitude is not the haven it once was for me.
I am lost without my Boswell.
hyelandia has been doing a challenge where she tries to write thirty drabbles in thirty fandoms in thirty days, and I sort of stared at it, because I wasn't sure I could even think of thirty fandoms. But after sorting through some of my books I realized that I do have quite a few. So, since I'm trying to get the writing muscle working in spite of the start of Summer Reading Club, I'm going to see what I can do. Here's the first, from Sherlock Holmes.

Date: 2005-06-20 03:33 am (UTC)Am writing a short story myself for this short story contest and I am also using the SH fandom. It's rather difficult to get a handle on the writing style isn't it? I love the long flowing descriptions though. It's so... proper.

Tis a set of books and they're huge. The short stories take two volumes. (Which I've got.) There will, I hope, be another volume with the four novels at some point.
Quite droolworthy.

Date: 2005-06-21 11:28 am (UTC)...I didn't think I had 30 fandoms either, until I started writing down all the fandoms I felt I could write in, and I turned up with way more than thirty! I think it's wonderfully invigorating.
