My lava lamp is being particularly suggestive tonight...

I'm slap-happy from being so tired from a long work day -- this just made me giggle and giggle

You rascal.

BTW, Surgicalsteel's latest chapter got me all inspired to read "Fourteen Days" again, which I just did. What a terrific story.

Oooh, thank you! I should go back and reread it myself soon.

There was a lava lamp in the chief resident's office at Lahey. :)

Lovely distracting things aren't they. It isn't nearly as inspired tonight.

It gave off just enough light that I could dial the phone, but not so much that I couldn't sleep. Wonderful invention!

Truly. Tonight it seems to be working more on creating strange things like crustacean legs and floating goobers and bubbles, but I'm sure as it continues to heat the licentiousness will return.

Mmm, Lavaaaaaaah.

(I love lava lamps, and can watch them for half an hour at a time.)

I love the way they transform before they heat up all the way. As you can probably tell from a certain story...

Mine currently looks like a cross between a saguaro cactus and something they'd sell in the 'couples' stores. Warmed up just enough to create this lovely rude shape before I turned it off last night, so the inspiration is preserved in wax till I can get back to bed tonight and enjoy the sight(s). I like to do that sometimes, let it create a piece of artwork and then keep the good ones for a day or so. (The 9-year-old prefers to let it get all the way to where the big blooping bubbles are bumping into each other -- bubble wars!)

Lovely things -- shades of the 70's, which some of us still remember more or less fondly. Black lights and lava lamps, jump right up and show your age.
