I have a clean apartment!

And my houseguest has come and gone, alas. But it was lovely having company. We went to a lecture by Thich Nhat Hanh Saturday night and then drove up and wandered around Salem and the The House of the Seven Gables today. I did all the driving and managed not to wreck the rentacar when I took an exit too fast. (I only drive about once every three months, and I was expecting a different shaped ramp and didn't slow down enough for a highway exit. Do you know that if you steer into a skid on a curvy bit of road you still go off the curve? But I missed the signs and all we got out of it was an adrenalin charge and some exercise for my vocabulary.)

It was lots of fun, but now I am tired...

Jo will leave for the States tomorrow. It was turbulent and wonderful and funny and joyful, and even the kids loved her. Sometimes guests are a real blessing.
