I've read it.

You may now talk to me about the Deathly Hallows.

I am, however, far too tired and wired to read my flist...

I am thoroughly satisfied by how it turned out, although a little impatient with how she got there. But it works, it works.

Wow.

I'm very happy for you that it was a satisfying experience. I won't be reading it for a long time, so I *will* be checking posts like this for spoilers and How It Ends.

Well, Harry Ron and Hermione have to destroy these items which the Dark Lord has put his soul into, right, and there's only one way to do that. They spend a Very Long Time on a journey to recover and destroy all the items and finally end up at Mount Hogwarts. Harry heroically sacrifices himself to defeat the Dark Lord, but then just as it looks like the end for him he has an encounter with Dumbledore the White and realises that he (Harry) is not dead after all and he has by his giving and selfless nature saved the world. In the meantime a great big battle has been raging, lots of people are sacrificed, lots are deemed heroes, the quickest just-friends-to-wedding transition in the history of literature (with one possible exception) has taken place and in the end everyone is lauding Harry as a Hero but all he really wants is to go home and have a kip and something to eat. Then he gets on a boat and sails west with the last of the Noble House-Elves

I wrote the above as something of a mick-take, but halfway through I realised it's an applicable spoiler, so I've coloured it in just in case. Striking similarities to a certain book you might have read, though.

I don't know how you did that "colouring in" thing, but it's genius! And I really enjoyed reading the summary. My goodness, she fit all that in one book? Are there any appendices or epilogues?

(I'm especially glad that no one sailed West, as the Elves might start thinking that it's getting *awfully* crowded in their little Paradise.)

*hugs you*

Good! I don't have to like Harry Potter to admire Rowling's accomplishment, or to be excited for the world to hold it's breath for a day over a children's book. It is all good for me! Imma liberrian ; )

*twirls you and Harry Potter, too*

Dobbyyyyyyy...*cried*

Dead Wizard Walking...*cried some more*

Snape ... *totally, totally RIGHT about him!*

Ending...*punched the air and whooped*

...though I do get a bit tired of having the generational epilogue where our heroes have all had kids, and they all name all their kids after dead friends or relatives -- and why did Harry get to do all the naming in their family, hmm? Why wouldn't Ginny want to name a son Fred?

Minor quibble! Minor quibble! (Do not anger a woman worth 80 billion pounds.)

I think that one of the other Weasleys probably named a son "Fred" before Harry and Ginny had an opportunity to try. James sounds like he's about thirteen and Albus is only eleven, so they didn't start having kids for a few years...

I totally agree with your statement. I got a thoroughly good cry out of it, and then a Woohoo!

And I was *SO* right about Snape! YAY!
