Busy day

Went and saw the Endo and we got along a little better, but she still doesn't really listen and she doesn't bend at all. I suspect I'm going to have to try switching to someone else because she's so locked into "doing it the way we usually do" even though she admits that medicine is not an exact science. I want her to err, by one day or two, in the direction of making sure I do the next thing *on time*, and she insists that we need to err on keeping me off the levoxyl the minimum time so I'm more comfortable and to prevent possible tumor growth. Since if my levels aren't where they'd need to be on the right day I'd have to stay off the levoxyl for a few more days anyway, I don't see that the tumor risk is all that great and I've spent so much of the past few years feeling lousy I can't really be frightened by the prospect of an extra day or two.

The good news is that I also managed to see the PA in surgery and got the calcium test redone, so now I don't have to take the oohgobs of calcim I was on and my innards might settle down!

Since I was out there anyway, I stopped into Bed Bath and Beyond and picked up a griddle for pancakes, a universal pot lid, and some burner reflectors I needed. Alton Brown is a bad influence. I also tried to get a new printer cartridge but Staples didn't have them. Tried Best Buy for more "Good Eats" without success and by then I needed to sit and eat before I could take the train home.

I'm tired and my neck hurts, but to be honest I feel pretty good, considering how much I went and did. Still, I should probably clean up and fall over.

I'm with you on the endo thing. One or two days here or there is not going to make that huge of a difference in terms of tumor growth - and as far as the discomfort goes, she's not the one who's feeling it, is she? And good news about the calcium!

I think Amazon has Alton Brown DVDs...

They probably do. But I think I can order them from the food network too.

I see the surgeon on the 7th, so I'm going to talk to him then. But I shouldn't feel like I have to maneuver around her. Oh, well, I'll think on it over the weekend and then decide if I want to go through the hassle of getting switched to someone else in the system. Maybe there's someone who has an office closer to my house and I can use that as leverage.

I just succumbed and ordered the 27 DVD set...

The three I've got are in there, I think, but I can use them for gifties at Christmas.

It's possible that the oxycodone had something to do with my lack of self restraint. *wanders off to read fics*

Hi, RBS! I'm sorry you had such a trying day. Mine was busy as well, but in a less challenging way.

The next of the Sam fic is up. Sorry it's so late! RL does have its way sometimes. I hope you have a good evening and restful sleep. Take care.

I love the Food Network. "Good Eats" is so cool--I use his recipe for pot roast sometimes, and it's incredible how tender it comes out. I love Tyler Florence's "Ultimate", too.

I hope you will soon be feeling up to snuff. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

And since you've time for reading fic, well, remember that Sam and Marigold fic I told you about? It's up on Challenge 29:

You *did* have a busy day! And sometimes doctors need to be lectured -- or replaced. Definitely. (And you might call "Office Depot", if you have one -- I find they usually have lots of printer stuff.)

I had problems with my internist too, so I switched to one who's specialty is thyroid illnesses and I'm still happy I did that. The doctor I have now really listens to my problems. And even if she can't always do something about it, that makes all the difference. Good luck.
