evening report

well, I go up, then I go down, then I go up, then I go down...

Threw up once this morning, and haven't ventured food again until just now. We'll see how it stays down. But I got my kitchen shelves and closet done! The only day the installer could come was today and so my sister supervised while I watched Emergency! episodes on my little dvd player and fell asleep on them. But the second season has the one where Johnny got the dangerous virus and blacked out on the scaffold! I wonder which season was the snakebite?

I'm going to go back to bed now....

My face is all red, but my sister went up to Walgreens and bought a mommymeter cause we couldn't find mine and my temperature is fine... I'm just silly and achy because I'm not taking the narcotic only tyleneol...

Did they tell you to take any narcotics (beside Tylenol)? If yes, you should perhaps take them to be pain-free.

They gave me vicodin, but I think that's what made me throw up. And throwing up is bad because my throat has all sorts of little things that have to heal in it right now, so I'm reduced to tylenol.

Hey, board certified surgeon person! Is my face supposed to be all red? Or is that just from lying down in all the snuggly warm blankets all day?

It's amazing how much less enthusiastic I feel about moving today than I felt last night, though... My neck is all stiff. Not really surprisingly. But I expect tomorrow will be better.

Neck stiff = normal.

And lots of my patients have told me that it's not the day of surgery that's the worst, but the day after.

Your patients are right. Last night I came home and ate mashed potatoes and toast with maple cream and was perfectly happy. Today it's been, "how soft is that? Am I really hungry? Straws are good, because bending neck is badddddd...."

Hope you're feeling much better soon. Are you sure it was a reaction to the pain pills? It would be a shame if you couldn't get the benefit of them. Get some rest, dear, and dream about hobbits...

Well, (as I catch up with comments) I think it probably was a reaction to the pain pills. I've been trying to get by sans tylenol today, in the hopes that it will convince my digestion to settle down...

I remember that Emergency episode! In fact, it's the only one I remember, lol. I forgot his name was Johnny but I thought he was handsome. *snickers* Haven't seen it since it aired on TV here in the 80s, but that episode stuck with me and managed to make me remember the series.
