update on the waterbed situation
Dec. 4th, 2008 11:26 amI have what they call a soft sided waterbed. Instead of one big bladder, it has tubes inside a foam frame. 6 tubes, one of which has a split an inch long down the seam and another of which appears to have been leaking for a while, since it is only half full. (Even though I can't find a hole.)
There's a plastic layer inside the foam frame. No, it wasn't in perfect position. Yes, the foam frame and the box mattress below got wet. And of course, the big foam mattress top got soaked, which is why I was alerted, via a very chilly portion of my anatomy, at oh dark thirty this morning.
Because of all that nice spongy foam, there was no actual flood. There will, however, be cold wet foam for as long as it takes to dry itself out.
I need to either find my waterbed fixing kit (I do have one) or go and buy two new tubes this weekend. In the meantime, an airmattress on the COLD living room floor is going to have to suffice.
bleah, bleah, bleah, bleah, bleah....
