I had pronounced the "k" on the end of "talk".

This is unusual? The conclusion I would draw is that fans are smart, highly literate, and possibly lacking in social skills. Sounds like everyone I've ever known. :D

I can't imagine how to say "talk to" without pronouncing the K, myself. Not and be understood!

I don't recognise much of this in me. That might be because I just blurt forth my thoughts without listening to what I'm saying (which can lead to me getting very muddled because my mouth is still talking while my brain has wondered off elsewhere and I have to go back and start again). Then again, it might be because I'm from a different country. Everyone pronounces the K of 'talk' don't they? Unless they're using Cockney/Estuary English.
