Well, in spite of bad reviews I decided to go, and you know what? I enjoyed myself tremendously. It's a great comic book, which is exactly what I wanted it to be, and if Victor Von Doom didn't rock my world, so what, I had Ioan Gruffudd in Spandex...

And for once it's a superhero movie I can say to parents, "yeah, go ahead and take your ten year old -- couple of scary parts, but nothing they probably haven't seen." Little to no swearing, and only one burp...

And they got Johnny Storm absolutely perfect!

I saw a Making of yesterday evening, and to my surprise I liked it. Perhaps I'll give it a chance.

Leave your brain at home and enjoy! Might be scary for small or sensitive kids when Victor starts killing people (no gore, but hole-straight-through-chest is creepy and disturbing) You might want to pre-view if you know you've got nightmares to think about.

I should definitely be sleeping now...

Man, i've loved Ioan since the first time I saw a Hornblower movie. Must remember to go see Fantastic Four sometime soon.

It's dumb. It's fun. It's got a view! (Well, maybe not quite as much of Ioan as I would have liked, but the guy playing Johnny ain't hard on the eyes either...)

Oh, good. I wanted to see it last night, but my BF voted it down due to reviews. (_Batman Begins_ was awesome, though, so I'm glad we saw that.)

I have to say I didn't care for it. I was one of many who tech screened it on Wed. and as a whole we thought it was pretty so-so. For the first half hour I couldn't figure out what was bothering me and then I realized it was the make-up.

No one, except Johnny the youngest of them all, had lines on their foreheads and the light reflecting off of Jessica Alba's overly shiny and swollen lips (to make her look sexy I suppose) nearly blinded me. All I could think was, "This movie was sponsored by Botox cosmetics."

And the final fight scene was a terrible let down for me. So much time for what I though was barely believable build-up for a fight scene which should have been a first encounter in the middle of the film.

On the other hand the SFX make-up for the Thing was *awsome*. I loved the fact that you could see him breath. And Johnny was fun (and cute.)

I do agree with the ability to recommend it to parents although seeing what I do at the theater, very few parents pay attention or care.

Thank you! We want to take Miranda so I'm glad to hear it won't be too much for her.
