It's been a very busy week at work. All the families who care are coming in with summer reading lists and I've been rooking in victims children for the summer reading club left right and sideways. Also trying to entice them to try to win a bicycle or Red Sox tickets. I've been coming home without enough braincells to deal with my flist, much less write anything. And I've got at least one piece that I've got to finish, which is looming like an insuperable barrier between me and everything else.

It's written, all that's left is one big revision session. I can do this. I can. Really.

Yeah, and there's a bridge I can sell you in Brooklyn too...

*wanders off to play solitaire again*

Good grief! Everyone has been brainfried lately! EEeK! They aren't reading much either, I notice, but hopefully all will change when the weather breaks.

I had a list of fics that I want to read once I have the energy to comment, but I'm darned if I know where I put it. Lately I just scan my flist for "nobody's dead or frantic" and head for the next thing that has to be done NOW. And I'm trying to finish something in HP, so I don't dare get distracted by Sam. *tries to imagine channeling Sam and Snape at the same time and burns out a few more braincells*

Of course if the weather improved it would help. Just a little less humidity, please? And more than a third of the AC capacity at work functional? Please?

I MUST tell you... I have been bitten by a very strong Sam bunny. I think you will adore it. I don't know when I will get to write it, but I will definitely let you know when I do. ((((HUGS)))) Yes, a break in the weather would be MOST welcome!

Here's hoping the former, eh? Though I hear basketweaving is quite relaxing... :p

Hmmm... The unflapable meets the inscrutible. The staring contest could go on forever.

You know, you write a *lot*. It must be ferociously busy for you right now; the kids who have finally(!) let me be are besieging you.

We'll be here when you're writing again, and meanwhile we'll be here rooting for you as you deal with this really busy time.

I'm trying to clear my desk off enough to turn it so that I'm facing the room when I'm on the computer (why my predecessor set it up so that she was facing the corner when she was trying to order books or deal with email or anything else I don't understand.) Today I managed to work on it for almost fifteen whoel minutes.

I wonder waht the smiley is for absofrigginglutely wiped.......

As Ruby said, we're here. And if you need help (everything but chocolate, I fear it will melt on its way from here to Boston), just send an email.

I've got to finish that story before HBP comes out... I've just got to. Otherwise it won't happen till book seven! And I'm so frickin' tired I can't write. I keep leaving out words in the middle of sentences, or forgetting letters or spaces or punctuation. It's horrible to be this close to finished and jammed.

If you're too tired to write, just stop forcing yourself. The result will drive you nuts, because you'll always think you could have made it better if only you had been more fit and awake. It is orgininal, fresh and shiningly AU anyway; I don't think it matters how JKR continues her tale, yours will be outstanding in any case.

*gives you a hearty hug and continues translating BIGS because that crazy cat woke me up at 4.20 a.m.and had to be ushered down from the terrace into the garden FOUR TIMES before that beast finally understood that it's a BAD BAD IDEA to mewl aloud in the middle of the night and destroy my last chance for a little sleep - and now I can't fall asleep again.ยง$%&"!!!!!!*

Take it easy and relax. Middle-earth and Hogwarts will still be there when the busy season ends. I understand the feeling--Craft Camp starts week after next, and I find myself harboring the cowardly wish that I had given in my notice sooner. Two weeks this year. And I still don't have all the project samples finished. Summer!!!!

People keep saying summer is the slow season... I just stare at them from the swamp that is my desk and run up a white flag to surrender!

I've needed several, thanks. I'm doing good in the virtual hug department, thanks to my flist, but I'm still kind of shy in the RL department, darn it...

Isn't it nice that we're noncontagious over the internet? (sick as a dog... again)

Won't push you to write or to read and comment... though I hope you'll continue Bergil's tale, there'll be rainy days later in the calendar for sitting down and reading.

The library kids-reading-folks are actually bringing books and sign-up materials to our local park on Fridays! So taking my bookworm to the park for fresh air and play and trying to get her nose out of a book for a few hours rather backfired yesterday...

Having just come out of a busy time and now down sick, I simply urge you to take care of yourself, and know your friends are thinking good thoughts your way.

I laughed like a loon when I saw your comment about fresh air and your bookworm.

I used to get my fresh air by running around till I got tired, then crawling into the space under our lilac bush with a book and reading there. It was amazing.
