You should write a "Fell-Winter"-bit where people can read about the frost losing its grip around the Shire. Give them the beginning of spring (which would also give the whole series a proper and satisfgying end IMO). *is waiting to start the translation...*
Hmmm... Bergil was "still sniffling when he realized that he wasn't alone", right? Let it be Sam, and let him actually bundle him into the next bed. Would be only sensible... and the way I think Sam would react at the sight of this overtired, teary-eyed child. Is there perhaps a song he remembers from Bell Gamgee? (I like people being soothed by songs - quod erat demonstrandum. *grins*)
