I told myself after the pilot that I'd give it a few episodes before deciding whether or not I would give up on it. And I'm glad I did, because the most recent one was very promising. It's beginning to look like Sherlock Holmes!

In other news, I need more hours in the day. Or at least more hours when my head doesn't hurt.

One of my friends told me this episode was better, too! I was already at the point of not caring enough to choose it over a million back episodes of Leverage or re-re-re-watch a Mentalist episode, but between your and my other friend's reports I just might be able to bring myself to it. :-)

This was definitely an improvement. As someone else said, we've got Holmes as addict in the Brett version, and Holmes established as sober in the BBC version and Elementary dances along the "Holmes who hasn't gotten used to being sober" line.

Also, I'm really liking Liu's Watson more each week.

I REALLY hated Liu's Watson in the first episode. A lot of people thought she was strong and stood up to Holmes. I thought she was a complete blank who occasionally said something semi-sullen that was meant as a rebuke. (It lead me to write this really long rant about "smart and sexy" being code for "sexy and we're going to inform you that the character is smart even if she doesn't act like it"... haven't posted it yet, but still feeling ranty about it.) I thought she wasn't a complete blank in episode two, but nothing like a character who could provide one half of the interest of the show. I'm hoping this next episode gets to actually sort of interesting for me. :-D

I've been watching the show from the pilot and it's only been getting better. And I love the scene with them doing the exercise in the kitchen.

Yes! That bit had me laughing very loud. And clearly I need a liu-watson icon now.

Same here. Pilot good. 1st episode terrible. 2nd episode great. 2 out of 3. Not bad.

It's better today. But I know why it stuck around. I should never try to stick it out at work with a low-grade migraine. It means days worth of wanting to saw my head off and leave it somewhere to be miserable all by its lonesome.

I liked ep 3 for the plot, and ep 4 for the secondary characters. At some point it will click and I will be able to see it as Holmesian. Now it is still a struggle.
