rabidsamfanOne of my favorite authors on AO3 has an LJ, I've discovered belatedly, and has recently posted a wonderful essay On Character Death which had me laughing, but left me thinking. If you're a writer of fanfiction (or other things) or for that matter just a reader/viewer who has noticed how many times fictional characters bite the dust and wonder why, you'll enjoy the read.
