THAT was completely awesome, and one of the best uses of that song I've seen!
Thanks!

I like the historical references in that. I spotted a couple, and I had to go google to catch the rest. I couldn't help but to think that this could be a good classroom reference project.

The part that struck me was the recreation of a contemporary political cartoon (the "Antis" with their token woman), which I found here.

Oh yeah, the "coverture" laws that kept married women from having their own money or property. (The Underground Railroad Freedom Center, a museum in Cincinnati dedicated to the history of slavery in America, mentions all versions of slavery, including the indentured servitude of Irish immigrants and women's coverture - which is where I learned about it.)

Another offspring of a suffragist - L. Frank Baum, author of the Oz books. (Could that be why Oz has so very many brave and independent girl heroes? Not just Dorothy but Princess Ozma, Glinda the Good, General Jinjur and her girl army, Tiny Trot, Betsy Bobbin, Scraps the Patchwork Girl, Queen Zixi of Ix... To this day it's one of the most egalitarian fantasy worlds.)
