Racing Darkness: Aragorn

Twenty miles at least, and more than we could have gone without Glorfindel's aid, it's true. But I am weary, as I seldom am, from taking the night watches and from worrying about the hobbits. If it were not for our guide I would have gone astray because my eyes had closed of their own.

The grass is soft where we stop at last, and I fall into its comfort as bonelessly as Pippin does. But sleep will not come until I see that Frodo too is resting.

How he keeps the shadow still at bay I do not understand.

aww~ i really like the last line =) poor Frodo and lovely series of drabblets about how everyone is feeling during their quick and long trek to Rivendell...

Because he's a hobbit! Well, it's not really an answer but still. I like that you can write about something so dark but still make me smile.

Well, now you can tell out how long it takes me to write them. Including counting the words by hand, last night, because I was in Notepad instead of Word and it doesn't have a word count feature. But when the ideas are hot, they words do flow...

I started with writing Merry's and when I fought with the title I got suddenly inspired to write the rest... You'd think I'd be able to resist posting them all at once, wouldn't you?

My father used to give us Christmas presents weeks early and with no more wrapping than the brown paper bag from the store... I wonder if it's genetic...
