He's a genius, Sherlock Holmes, and there's no denying it. Saved my career a time or two, despite his methods, which are enough to drive a man mad: plays his cards so close to the vest ain't no one can follow his reasoning, not even the folk he's called to help him out. But there's times even a genius can't see the nose in front of his face and that was one of them. Stepped right off the path and into the bog, he did, and all for a boot we could have got with a butterfly net next morning.

Hee! You even give dignity to Lestrade. Well done.

You don't know me - I got here from Shirebound's LJ, I think. But I wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying your Sherlock Holmes drabbles. I have loved Sherlock Holmes since I was about 12 years old, and you have made me want to dig out my book and read all the wonderful stories again. A few years ago, I asked for and received for my birthday "The Annotated Sherlock Holmes" and it's been a while since I read any of them. It's the complete collection of stories and they've got all these footnotes and extra information. It's wonderful! Anyway, I love the way you write Sherlock Holmes. There's a wealth of fanfic materials in those stories!

Shirebound's LJ is the source of many good things...

I too have loved Sherlock Holmes (and Watson!) since I was young, and I've been enjoying rediscovering the tales recently to no end. I've also found a patch of astonishingly good stories at, of all places, ff.n. On Afghanistan's Plains by Pompey is very good, but there are some other good authors going there right now too. And soon I shall be unveiling a much longer sherlockian tale... I just want to finish the first draft first!

Did anyone follow up on the country policeman in... I think it was Wisteria Lodge? The one who iirc managed to solve the problem by a aproaching it by a somewhat different route than Holmes. He wasn't especially cooperative, but he definitely wasn't stupid.

I'll go check out the stories at ff.n while I eagerly await your longer story.
I especially love your drabbles about Watson. He has always been my favorite, and I love how you write Holmes appreciating him, although he doesn't always demonstrate it.

*snicker* That's *so* Lestrade.

And what makes it funny is, he's right.
