Wow! What a great idea! You sucked me in totally; I have read stories like this (I just remembered Out of all knowledge by Budgielover), buth there are so many fresh, surprising ideas - the hot spring and the pool (and the short, melancholic reminiscence of CelebrÃan), the exchange of thoughts between Gandalf and Elrond (or is it elvish - because of the italics, you know), and the wonderful idea that Sam's voice "anchores" Frodo, and that the Ringbearer listens to him and not to Elrond - beautiful! Give is more of that, please!
