A Caul for the Doctor

People who believe in that sort of thing don't want to know that most ghosts are silent reflections of the past, caught forever in patterns of things they'd left undone. And people who don't believe, well, they're not going to want to know that some ghosts walk through the world with such certainty that anyone can see them, even touch them, although they are cold as the grave.
Thank God the arm beneath his hand is warm!
Another WWoes prompt. It was "superstition", this time. Some folk traditions say that a babe born with a caul will have the second sight. I keep meaning to make a longer story of this. Someday, perhaps.
