Okay. I have in my hands a copy of "The Cybernauts" which is a New Avengers novel written from the episode in 1977. It has the ISBN 0 8600 7530 3 and was printed in Manchester by C. Nicholls and Co., published by Futura which is located in London, and doesn't even have a US price anywhere on the cover.

And what do I find on page 11? A little exchange that goes like this:

(Steed says:) 'Things will be a lot better tomorrow.'

Purdey flashed him a quizzical look. 'Tomorrow, Steed? What happens tomorrow?'

Steed clucked his tongue reprovingly, affecting a pained expression. 'You'd forgotten.'

'Forgotten?' Purdey regarded him blankly, still not understanding.

Steed drew himself up proudly, beaming upon his two companions. 'Tomorrow,' he announced solemnly, 'is my birthday.'

Yes, single quotes and all. This book was never meant for American audiences.

And I never want to hear anyone tell me that "forgotten" is American and should be banished from all fanfic that's set in the UK (or derived from British sources) again. OK?

There is no "New Avengers" fanfic out there on the net? At least none that I can find.
