lilybaggins wanted a drabble with Frodo and Aragorn in Minas Tirith -- and I'm hoping I understood her right and she meant one to follow my story "Awake"! which is movieverse...

Invalid Meal

“I think I ate too much,” Frodo said mournfully, as he emerged from the screened corner of the sickroom for the third time and made his unsteady way towards his bed.

Aragorn tucked Sam’s blanket in and went to help Frodo settle back against his pillows. “Too much, and too rich,“ he agreed. “Although I think you can lay some of the blame on your cousins. I did not realize how much they had ‘borrowed’ from the kitchens. Clear soups and fresh bread, I told them.”

But Frodo only grinned, already half-asleep. “It tasted wonderful. All that lovely clotted cream.”

Transformations

It’s all topsy-turvy here, Merry thought sometimes. He and Pippin, who had always had servants to bring their plates and mind their clothes, were doing the serving now. Not that it wasn’t an honor, of course, and it did have the side benefit of access to the kitchens. Still…

It must be the air. Frodo could never get enough of the sun these days; you could always find him in the gardens. And Sam had begged Gandalf to show him the libraries where he had sought out the truth of the Ring and forever had his nose in a book!
