Eeek! You might want to empty them of breakables. In college, my roommate and I heard a crash! one evening, ran into the apartment kitchen, and found that the cabinets had fallen off the wall and everything inside them was smashed.

I just spent several minutes doing just that. And taking out the cans and food from the section of cupboards which is most affected too.

By the way, I'm working on a Sam fic right now for you, but it might take awhile longer because of well...because of the particular structure of it. ANd it might have the very obvious type of hurt/comfort...But it IS Sam-centric...

It's plaster or plasterboard I think. And it got wet a while back...

Yikes! I'm glad to hear that you've removed all contents from the shelves.

This reminds me of when I was in a really dingy, run-down place. I was cooking Kraft dinner (not much money, hence run-down place), and I left the kitchen for a moment. When I returned, a part of the ceiling was in the process of falling down... and some of it into the Kraft dinner! Luckily, the landlord was quick to respond to my pleas for help and he fixed it for me. Needless to say, the Kraft dinner was not eaten... :)

My landlady is pretty reasonable. I'm going to check into ELFA shelving and she's going to get a carpenter to take out the old cabinets for me. I think the ELFAs would be cheaper for her anyway, and a lot more adaptable.

Well, it's an old, old city (at least as far as the U.S. goes -- I know we're not as used to thinking in centuries around here). I'll have to get back out there sometime and see the Elfa shelves once you get them up. Definitely more flexible, and they have some nice combos. It should look good!

Hope Millard the Mallard finds a new flight-path soon. The deity of petty misfortune has definitely worn out his welcome there. *Pats on the head, seester*
