I've got this plot bunny, and I just can't get it to do anything but glare at me...

Boromir after the evacuation of Ithilien and the destruction of the bridge in Osgiliath, wondering whether or not the dream Faramir describes to him is important, or just born of stress and fever, and as he becomes convinced, wondering how to keep Faramir from going off into danger alone.

Has someone already written this? And if not, could you please? The bunny is getting very disgruntled.

I will forward that to my friend Lindorien - who probably has more bunnies than she can shake a stick at plus she writes original fic. But if it bites her, she may run with it. I am afraid I have already been deeply bitten by a Faramir fic that has been perking for about a year so I can't do anything but that...

Well, I know on ff.net, Dimfuin writes excellent fics with Faramir and Eowyn, and one he had Boromir in it. She wrote Boromir very well. YOu can try to get in contact with her. Hope this helps in some way. :)

I'm a big Boromir fan, but I haven't the time to feed your bunny either. But can you tell me where I can find references to the evacuation of Ithilien and the destruction of the bridge of Osgiliath? In which book is it, so I can look it up? I can't find it in the Tale of Years at the back of RoTK, so it's probably in any of the chapters. I need to know the year when it exactly happened. Thanks so much.

In the german version of the "Tale of years", there is a single sentence that says: 2954: Mount Doom spits fire again and the last inhabitants of Ithilien flee across the Anduin. I had to check this out, too, for the 12th chapter of Winter Fire And in the "Tale" is also mentioned that ...Sauron attacked Osgiliath in June 3018. I think this must be the moment when the bridge was destroyed.

Boromir describes it in the Council of Elrond.

At the Council of Elrond Boromir says they kept a foothold in Ithilien, and that it was pretty much destroyed in the attack that had come in June. They were overwhelnmed, and that seems to be the first time that the Gondorians had really encountered the Nazgul as well. I think the garrison must have been sizeable, and included civilians who were probably evacuated just before they destroyed the bridge, because if I remember right, Faramir's rangers were supposed to have grown up in Ithilien and knew it well. Certainly the destruction of the bridge was held off until the last desperate moment, because the defenders had to swim the river afterwards.

Fair enough. For some reason I just can't get past a sentence or two without getting frustrated.

As [livejournal.com profile] shirebound is fond of telling me, it doesn't matter if anyone has done it already- you haven't done it yet, and everyone has her own perspective on a tale or situation. So go for it, girl!

If the cranky little bunny would cooperate I wouldn't be sending it out in the world.
*shoos it towards you frantically*

No! No more rodents, no matter how cranky or cooperative! (whimpers)
