Old

The best thing about being old, as far as Sophie was concerned, was the way it let you speak your mind about things. Second best was the way it let you see what youngsters were really after: she'd had no trouble with Calcifer worth mentioning once she'd learned how much he loved the bacon rinds. Third best was being able to look fierce without trying – her eyebrows even frightened her sometimes.

She tried not to think about the worst thing, but it haunted her dreams. How many years had she lost forever? Who would take care of him, of them afterwards?

I'm glad to see you writing again. I can't wait to see the movie so I know what these are about (I read the book so long ago I only remember loving it, but no actual details at all).

It's up at Kendall Square, as well as Coolidge Corner and a few other places. Be sure to call ahead and ask if you want to make sure you're going to see the dubbed version (especially at Kendall Square!) Not that the subtitled version is that much different (and yes, I saw both in two days... yes, go ahead and laugh...)

Best movie I've seen in a theater in ages.
