Suikoden V is out for the PS2. I don't play a lot of games, but for some reason the Suikoden series really pulled me in with the first game and I never miss one now. So I have it, all shiny in its wrapper, waiting for me to have the free time to play it...

Yes it did! I've got it my pile of "after the operation timefillers" at the moment, although it may graduate to my "commuting reading" pile if I can just get through all these darn book orders.

Do love the Suikoden series, though I've only played the first and second. Knew about the third, but not a fourth or fifth. Anyhow, yay for early birthday gifts! And enjoy your game.

3 was okay, once I got used to the animation (3D instead of 2D -- not actually beneficial imho). 4 had problems, although I did enjoy several of the characters. Combine it with Suikoden Tactics and you've got a fairly decent game. Five, however, has all the long time fans bouncing happily and saying it's even better than 2.
