Cold - Eowyn

I think I've forgotten what it means to feel warm, but it's plain he hasn't. Lovelier than the ladies and flowers of Gondor? I haven't heard such nonsense since the summer my nurse insisted that I dress like a lady and my brother's friends all teased me to distraction. But then my Uncle fell ill, and sweet words were forgotten, replaced by whispers from Wormtongue and none but me to hear, or to see the glitter of hungry eyes following from the shadows.

'Twould ease his heart to see me, he says, but I have learned to fear being watched.

Eomer got to go out and ride about with people he could talk openly to at least some of the time. When did she ever get that chance? Personally, I think half her attraction to Aragorn is that he stands in Theoden's hall and doesn't fear to tell the truth about what's happening.

Yes, and because of his handsome, stubby-bearded, weathered... yummy... looks.

*grins*

Well, yes, of course...

*wanders off into a happy daydream*

I take it you're feeling better today, then?

*joins you in the daydream*

Not really, but I had two nights of better sleep, and I try to keep my spirits up.

Hey, sleep is good. You're probably at the stage where you have to push liquids though. *glares at carafe of water by her computer and wonders why it's not empty yet*

How's the little one?

Better. The fever is gone, but he's still very tired. This afternoon he fell asleep on the living room carpet, wrapped in his favorite blanket, and the whole family had to step over him.

*grin* Why does that make me think of Pippin?

Because it's true - and he has the same fateful ability to get himself into trouble. He's our family hobbit anyway.
