Ah, I just love the way you channel Sam, it always gives me new insights into his character. Not only stiff and sore from paddling, but from paddling in a boat where the sides are too high... :) And his practicality in not only having the supplies for a fire, but knowing how to build one in a lowkey way, too. And his quiet happiness at doing something as familiar as cooking, making a hot meal for the others. And offering to make Legolas a proper hobbit meal :).
